Punching Through

This was a nice, glitch-free day. :-)  Punch through sheetrock, remove studs, cap drain vent, clean up. Gosh, it's nice to have those days.

Need to get something upstairs? Tough cookies.

With the old kitchen sink gone, it's time to finish the stairs! Which means closing them in from the garage side first! (Which means we've got a hidden staircase for a day) :-)

Gwyn got to be Daddy's helper today :-)

Wow, that looks like a real garage!

Riding the Roller Coaster

After the excitement of tearing out the sink, a little plumbing project was next.  With time to squeeze it in before we joined our church family at the OKC Dodgers game.  Right?

Just chop off the old sink plumbing, cap it, and we're good to go.

2 hours later. Hammer drill. Water off. A trip to Lowe's. Quick calls to family to take the girls to the game. Here we are.

And God was so good to let us resolve the problem quickly and join our girls at the game. What a gorgeous night!

Can't believe it's finally time

This corner sink has done it's job, but goodness. So obnoxious.  Today was the day.

Time to say goodbye to this little corner of frustration.

My turn.

It's (Temporary) Island Time!

The island construction begins
 Concrete's all ready!

Charis is interning as "Extra Weight."  She's not quite as effective as me.  :-)

Our $10 FB (temporary) sink!

And it has this really cool trick! :-)

Fancy "counter" courtesy of Poppy means we're ready to do dishes!

Starting to take shape

Fill 'er up!

The time has come to fill the trench in. The girls wanted pics first with the "picture frame" that Daddy built (to protect the plumbing).

 Sand first...

The girls and I killed time in Sam's, where I found this helpful magazine. If only we had seen this earlier!!! :-)

Uncle Dane came to help (again)

And they made quite a team.

They had the concrete in place within hours

And we set up for dinner in the playroom.

The girls got tired of being holed up in their room, and it was too cold to play inside, so they found refuge in Daddy's truck. :-)

Thankful for our sweet friend who joined us for dinner despite the house being a mess!

Now to keep Darcy out of the wet concrete...

Expanding the Resume`

Time to plumb the island...
Darcy's standing by with the foam

 Done!

And after all was said and done, I got to add another thing to my resume: extra weight for tamping dirt.  LOL!!
