Now we're coolin'!

Unbelievable to walk up the stairs and not feel the heat hit you in the face!  This weekend we got a brand new HVAC for the upstairs!  It started with running the copper tubing across the attic. Another fun 2-parent project. :-)

Then our guy, Joel, worked his magic.

After two VERY long and hot days, it's COLD upstairs!  Thank you, Lord!

G's getting the grand tour...

It's Painting Time

Here we go!  Really feeling the push to  get all of this painting done before school starts! So, bathroom is up first: Glacier Frost

And then Lily & Meg's room: Pirate Coast

An important job: keeping Darcy out of the paint.

Almost done!  Except we ran out of paint. Ugh.

Now time for C&G's room (the next afternoon): Sea Salt

And the men are having their final HVAC prep meeting across the hall...

Too.Many.Choices

Fun: Taking 5 girls to Lowe's to pick out 3 paint colors. That's right:  one for the bathroom, one for Lily & Meg's room and one for Charis & Gwyn's room.  And there are too many choices!!!  Good grief.  But what fun turning long-time dreams into reality for these sweet girls.

By the time we were done (after yet another trip) , we had 6 sample cans.

You know what? Gray is hard.  Why can't it just be gray?!

Darcy's excited about this Sea Salt color for C&G's room!

And in the meantime, James brought home the floor tile for the bathroom!  Woohoo!

Duct, Duct, Goose!

Oh man, this was some of the most tedious work.  Running ducting under in the second floor to prep for our new HVAC coming next week!

Did I mention how hot it was? And how I ended up assisting for 2 hours?  Not complaining, but ouch.

But after a few days of putting the puzzle together, the ducting is ready to go! Bring on the A/C!!

Bathtime!

Ain't it purty??  Darcy got to enjoy the first bath in the new tub. No pics. :-)  She enjoyed playing "basketball" - trying to shoot her bath toys into the cubbies. Cutie patootie.

One of those days...

Today has been one of those days.  More steps backward than forward. Tiles chipped out to replace with better cuts.  Finicky grout.  HEAT.  Frustration.

All at the end of an eventful week: James was laid off on Monday, something we could see coming after 10 weeks of furlough.  We're grateful for God's abundant provision, sad about the losses, and clueless about what's next.

But as Lily reminded us all, God provides.

Counters and Grout

Our counters/sinks were installed today!  Cultured marble made at a small local place. We're really happy with the results!

(Leaving the shrinkwrap on for now!)

Tile's done. Time for grout!

Going with a faint, faint gray grout.  It's already looking gorgeous!
